The LifeLabs Learning value that most resonates with me and why: The value I see myself living out the most consistently is to Choose Courage Over Comfort. As a child I was rather quiet and preferred to observe rather than participate. I think this allowed me to be a bit more aware of what is left unsaid in many spaces. As an adult I’ve fine tuned that ability and challenge myself to speak up. Sometimes you might not have a question, an idea, or a solution, but you recognize the need to acknowledge something that might be exactly what others are thinking and the thing that likely needs to be said out loud to move through challenging times.

Fun fact: I ran track through my second year of college and it’s still one of my absolute favorite sports. Since childhood my family has attended The Prefontaine Classic track meet in Eugene, OR and relish in the opportunity to witness, and sometimes meet, some of the fastest humans alive!
